Dear Friends,

Over 230,000 people died in over 14 countries from the Tsunami that swallowed the costal countries bordering the Indian Ocean. Waves up to 15 meters (50 feet) high swallowed children and entire villages causing a global crisis. It was one of the saddest and deadliest natural disasters in recorded history. The 4 countries that were hardest hit were Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand. 1/3rd of the deceased ware children. The Tsunami preyed on the most vulnerable victims, children, women and the elderly - people who could not fend for themselves. To think that the Indian Ocean, my favorite playmate as a child in Madras (Tamil Nadu, India), could cause such devastation saddens me. As a child, I played on the same seashore that thousands of children drowned in this Christmas. Huts made of mud walls and roofs made of palm leaves lined the beaches making the impoverished victims extremely vulnerable to this Tsunami. Those once subject to extreme poverty now died in the Tsunami. My heart seeks to bring relief to the survivors, especially children orphaned by this catastrophe.

The Wealth of Nations Foundation(WON), a nonprofit organization for children, is recognized by the Los Angeles County as a leading agency to reach hurting youth. WON seeks to bring relief to the Indian villages hit by this tidal wave of destruction. Please partner with us by donating. 100% of all donations go to surviving victims. All donations are tax deductible under federal tax id # 74-2985143.

Our world can’t experience such catastrophic human loss and the collective human soul not grieve the tragedy. But let’s not stop at grieving. Let’s do something about it. Please help! Give and know that you contributed to the recovery process. Once again, thank you for your heart of concern.

Wealth of Nations Tsunami Relief Fund

In 2006, as a result of our tsunami relief efforts here in the United States, the Wealth of Nations Foundation was able to bring tsunami relief to thousands of orphans in India.

Financial Provision for Tsunami Orphans: Nagamani Hospital and Orphanage received over $10,000 (U.S.) in financial support to assist over 2,000 children who were orphaned by the tsunami in India.

Psychological Trauma Treatment for Tsunami Victims: Wealth of Nations also funded Sneha Foundation, a psychological treatment center providing trauma treatment to tsunami victims in India. Thousands of adults and children were given psychological therapy for the trauma they experience during the tsunami.

School Supplies and Tuition: Wealth of Nations provided a year’s school tuition and school supplies to thousands of children who lived in huts in the fishermen’s villages and who’s homes had been washed away by the giant waves and who’s parents lost their source of livelihoods.

It is our hope to return and bring additional support in the upcoming years.
